Fall Math
They had these great table scatters in the $$ spot. Leaves, acorns and pumpkins, I think I see ten frames coming out of this computer pretty soon. I only wish I had found them sooner. Have you found anything great lately?

It's been awhile
I always start the year working on our names. These are the first, simplest activities I use and the kids love them both. When they can complete their name puzzle, like above, they can take it home. The play-doh is more of a challenge since making the "snake" is hard as they usually don't have a lot of experience with forming the doh.
Do you have any standby activities that you use every year?

I'm ready to hit the bottle
This is a great activity I saw on Pinterest. Now I've put out an all points bulletin for plastic Mrs. Butterworth bottles. I hope this turns out as cute as the pin. Have you been "pinning" like crazy this summer?

Spring is in the Air
We've been talking about all things Spring. I made this Ladybug addition activity for my tpt store. Go check it out by clicking on the icon on the sidebar.
We started out discussing Living and Non-Living things so I made the sorting activity below.
This is an abc matching activity a friend made for tpt store, but let me try it out. She's just getting started, too, but has some cute stuff.

What have we been doing lately?
Geometry for starters.
We used marshmallows and pretzel sticks to try to make 3-d shapes. It was harder than it looks on Pinterest, but lots of fun.
Springtime is almost here.

Of course, everybody did something for Dr. Seuss' burthday. This is a couple of activities I made for TPT. The "One fish, Two fish, Yellow fish, Green fish" was a real challenge to finish because it had the entire alphabet and took quite awhile to finish.
Springtime is almost here.
The activity above is a syllabication game using springtime pictures. Below is a beginning sound activity. This was made pre- computer era. Can you tell?

Making Tens
My littles love this activity when I get it out. We've been working on ten frames for months and this is just an extention. I have numbers between 20-99 on cards for them to choose and lots of egg cartons that I have cutinot ten frames. they choose a number, use manipulatives and fill the ten frames to create that number. I put this in a center and it gives me a chance to work with them on this skill. I use my center time for my tutor and I to work independently with them on skills they are having trouble with. This is one they all want to get to. I leave it out for the rest of year. How do you work with your class on this skill?

a freebie to let me know what you think
I have several items over at TPT that will go along with this time of year. Come over to check them out and let me know what you think. This is a freebie I'm offering and would like to know if I should take time to do the complete alphabet. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I'm still learning
I'm posting 2 of the activities I've posted on TPT. The one on top is a noun activity where they have to sort by people, places and things. I used American and Louisiana symbols. It addresses vocabulary. The next shows how I can't figure out how to turn shots from my phone yet. There's always something to learn. It's a Mardi Gras real vs. nonsense word sort. This is GREAT help for Dibels practice. I use it as an indicator for who needs more help.
