UUGGHH!!!

AAARRGGHH!!!!!  I know everyone must be going crazy from being cooed up inside with the ice.  In my neck of the woods we have gotten nothing, but freezing temps and some ice.  It's enough to keep the schools closed, but not enough to go out and have fun in.  Right now I would choose the chaos of 24 5yr. olds, over the insanity I call home.
How are you weathering this winter?

Fresh Start

YAY!!!!  I am so excited about this year!!!!  I am at a new school.  I had been at my old school too long and really needed a change.  My love of teaching had weakened and it's back now.
This is my classroom, still in progress.  I have spent my whole summer cleaning and throwing away stuff and still have so much to do, but I am so excited.  I think I already said that.  Stay tuned to what's next.

wish list

Look what I found at Hobby Lobby.  I would love to have this in my classroom.
I wonder .... would Hobby Lobby want to make a donation?

Snow Day

What a hectic school year.  Common Core and data collection has become overwhelming.  I have taught for 20 years and never was good with paperwork, but always kept up.  Now It seems like there's some piece of data I forgot to collect. Does anyone else feel this way?
Well, I think I finally caught up.  We've had 2 Snow days in the past week which is very uncommon in Louisiana.  Hope your year is going well.
I would like to post some of my tpt items here, but can't figure out how to get the pic to come up.  If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Fall Math

I've been to Target again.

They had these great table scatters in the $$ spot.  Leaves, acorns and pumpkins, I think I see ten frames coming out of this computer pretty soon.  I only wish I had found them sooner.  Have you found anything great lately?

It's been awhile

I always start the year working on our names.  These are the first, simplest activities I use and the kids love them both.  When they can complete their name puzzle, like above, they can take it home.  The play-doh is more of a challenge since making the "snake" is hard as they usually don't have a lot of experience with forming the doh.
Do you have any standby activities that you use every year?
